Submissions to the Doha Film Fund are now closed. The next round of Applications will begin on June 1st, 2011.
Potential applicants should realize that the approvals process works in several distinct stages. To start things off, please email your script with all relevant accompanying documents to filmfinancing@dohafilminstitute.com, and please identify whether you are applying for MENA or international film financing.
You should receive an email confirmation that we received your materials within 10 business days. Our team of professional script readers will then review your screenplay within 10-12 weeks. Once our readers complete their critiques, DFI will respond about potentially financing your film. Because DFI is committed to supporting talented new storytellers, we want to read scripts even if no producer is yet attached. In those cases, we will try to connect you with a suitable producer to support and mentor your filmmaking journey.
If DFI shows interest in supporting the project, your script and a preliminary budget will be given to DFI’s sub-missions committee, and you will then be asked to pitch your film. If three members of the submissions committee approve financing the script, your project will be green-lit.
DFI is committed to completing the financing process for every submission within three months, and we look forward to reading your scripts!
