Synopsis

Scorching beneath the summer sun, eleven-year-old Kader is determined to observe Ramadan for the first time. He is accompanied on this monumental endeavour by his best friend Rudy, who isn’t Muslim and considers this tradition a new game. To survive the day, the two children must elude hunger, thirst, and boredom. ‘Summer Fasting’ is a light-hearted short about moral duty, friendship and family satiated with a generous serving of humour and candour along the way.
