Synopsis

Nasser is a highly-creative young boy who uses an imaginary world as a coping mechanism to deal with his parents' impending divorce. Escaping to this comforting world he has created in his mind; he meets his alter ego, Captain Nasser. After overhearing his parents talking about losing their love for one another, Nasser naively sets out to recover what they have lost. Finding a bracelet, he and Captain Nasser race against time to save their worlds.

About the Director

Mohamed Al Mahmeed is a Qatari filmmaker. He received his B.Sc. in Business Administration at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2011, assisted by Doha Film Institute, Mohamed wrote and directed his first short film 'Fahad', which screened at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival. In 2015, Mohamed was selected for La Femis Summer Gulf Program in Paris where he directed a short film. He worked on the preparation and production of 'Al Johara', a short film supported by DFI’s Qatari Film Fund. 'Nasser Goes to Space' is Mohamed’s fourth short film, and he is currently working on his first feature film, 'Superpower'.
