The Ajyal Film Club
Cinema, Connection, and Creativity.
Inspired by Ajyal Film Festival, the Ajyal Film Club is a cinematic celebration and educational programme designed for young film enthusiasts living in Doha. It offers exclusive access to international films, along with enriching activities, workshops, and masterclasses over a period of six months.
The programme is divided into three member sections based on age: Mohaq (8-12), Hilal (13-17), and Bader (18-25).

Programme Offerings:
Mohaq (8-12 years old):
- Six sessions over six months, each lasting three hours.
- Watch globally acclaimed feature-length films and short film selections.
- Meet internationally renowned and thought-provoking guests.

Dates and Timings:
- The programme runs from January to June 2024, with monthly gatherings for each member section.
- Timings vary for each section: Mohaq (Thursdays from 4 – 7 pm), Hilal (Fridays from 3 – 7 pm), and Bader (Saturdays from 3 – 7 pm).
Venue:
All sessions will be hosted at the Museum of Islamic Art Auditorium.
*Please note that the venue is a nut-free zone. Nuts are not allowed inside the venue.
Eligibility:
- Open to locals and residents of Qatar aged 8 to 25.
- Participants will be assigned to a member section based on their age at the first session of the program.
Registration:
To register as an Ajyal Film Club Member, fill out your application form by clicking “Register”.
Joining the club will require a one-time participation fee to secure your place, as outlined below.

This programme is divided into three member sections inspired by the official Jury selection of Ajyal Film Festival.
- Mohaq
Mohaq means ‘New Moon’ in Arabic, and they are Ajyal Film Club youngest members, aged 8 to 12.
- Hilal
Hilal means ‘Crescent Moon’ in Arabic, and they are Ajyal Film Club members aged 13 to 17.
- Bader
Bader means ‘Full Moon’ in Arabic, and they are the eldest Ajyal Film Club members, aged 18 to 25.

The programme will be presented in both English and Arabic, with all films subtitled accordingly. Each member section has a bespoke programme created especially for them, with relevant themes, activities, and films. Selected members will only have access to the elements in their age-specific programme.
