Short Film Challenge!

Doha Film Institute presents a five-week filmmaking challenge, combining all the fundamental elements of making a movie: screenwriting, cinematography, production, direction and editing. Participants will write, produce, shoot and edit six compelling short films, which will look at themes of contemporary life in Qatar, and explore the personal experiences of the filmmakers involved.

The workshop is conducted in Arabic and English and is open to participants 18 years of age old and older.

Dates: Sunday – Thursday, 26 January – 27 February 2014
Venue: Hamad Bin Khalifa University Student Centre
Times: Weeknights – 6:00–9:00 PM

Submissions close Monday, 20 January. Successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday, 22 January.

Please note: each short film can only have:

  • Maximum 2 locations
  • Maximum 3 characters
  • Must be shot in daylight hours
