Synopsis

A little girl living in a black-and-white world experiences the love of her grandfather and the joy of a summer’s day in the park as dramatic explosions of colour that burst like fireworks all around her. Poignant yet inspirational, ‘Nieta’ reminds us of our ability to transform the way we look at our surroundings.

About the Director

Nicolás P. Villarreal was born and raised in La Plata, Argentina, and studied Animation at IDAC in Avellaneda. He later entered the Master’s Programme at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He has worked as an animator, character designer, sculptor and visual development artist for Walt Disney Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment, Jim Henson Studios and Amazon Studios, among others. He is a co-founder of Red Clover Studios and Director of the Visual Development Department at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. His short film 'Nieta' played at Ajyal in 2014.
