Doha, 23 September, 2013: This coming weekend, DFI UK Cinema Showcase will feature ‘Oliver!’ the six time Academy Award® winning musical, on 26th,27thand 28th September, followed by the BAFTA and Golden Globe award winning film, ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ on 27th and 28th September, at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Auditorium.

The musical adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic ‘Oliver Twist’ tells the adventures of young Oliver, who escapes an orphanage and takes up with a group of pickpocketing street urchins in the mean streets of 19th-century London. It features exuberant choreography, memorable songs and inspired performances.

‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’, featuring Hugh Grant in a Golden Globe-winning performance, is a hilarious and charming story of hopeless romance. When Charles (Grant) and his coterie of friends attend the first of a series of friends’ weddings (to which he invariably arrives late), he finds himself smitten with the striking American Carrie (Andie McDowell), but soon finds that the road to love is a bumpy, if often hilarious, one. The film was the highest-grossing British film in history at the time of its release and won the César for Best Foreign Film.

For Tickets, box office hours or any additional information, please log in to or visit the Museum of Islamic Art DFI Ticket Outlet (across from the MIA Auditorium). Tickets are priced at QAR 35 for the general public and a special discounted rate of QAR 25 for students. (Students must present a valid student ID to receive a discount. There is a maximum of two discounted tickets per person. Discounts are only available at ticket outlet locations).
