Synopsis

After the death of her mother, 19-year-old Shirin discovers her father’s plans to trade her in exchange for a new wife. Unable to accept this, she escapes to the big city with her secret boyfriend. When he is arrested, she must face the dangers and challenges of her new life alone.

About the Director

Twenty-six-year-old Halkawt Mustafa was born in Kurdistan in the north of Iraq. He and his family moved to Norway in the year 2000, and he is now a Norwegian citizen. “Red Heart” is his debut feature film and is a Norwegian/Iraqi (Kurdish) co-production, with Filmhuset in Norway as the main producer.
