Hisham Suleiman, Palestinian actor and director will conduct a performance workshop focusing on the key techniques of improvisation acting for theatre and cinema.

The workshop will be conducted in 4 individual stages over the course of 5 months. Hisham will work with the same group of students taking them closer and closer to a final public performance. The first workshop will introduce students to the art of improvisation for theatre and for the camera. Hisham will work with students individually and as a group to explain the uses of the actors’ body during performances; build confidence, and improve techniques that will allow them to respond positively to
different situations in a dramatic and a comedic style.

In the second workshop Hisham will teach the building blocks of scriptwriting for theatre and cinema. The third and fourth workshop will look at building the performance as well as actually performing and filming.

The workshop will culminate in a public performance during the 2011 Doha Tribeca Film Festival!

Workshop Dates:
Stage 1: May 26th – June 2nd Evenings
Stage 2: July 17th – 28th Evenings
Stage 3: October 16th – October 26th
Stage 4: October 2011 (DTFF)

Please note, students should be available to attend each of the 4 individual workshops.
