Renowned international and regional organisations extend support to inaugural Ajyal Youth Film Festival

Doha, Qatar; November 24, 2013: The Ajyal Youth Film Festival, presented by the Doha Film Institute, announces its line-up of festival partners for its inaugural edition, to be held from November 26 to 30, 2013.

Highlighting their continued support and commitment towards promoting cultural life in Qatar, The Cultural Village Katara will serve as the primary ‘Cultural Partner’ at the Festival with Occidental Petroleum of Qatar Limited, the second largest oil producer offshore Qatar, coming on board as the ‘Principal Partner’.

Abdulaziz Al Khater, Chief Executive Officer, Doha Film Institute, said: “It’s a privilege to receive such support from all our partners for the inaugural Ajyal Youth Film Festival. Doha Film Institute is thrilled to be broadening its collaborations with so many reputable organisations. These partnerships play a key role in enhancing the Festival’s unique proposition, and we thank each one of them for their commitment and support.”

Contributing sponsors include ‘Official Electronics Partner’ Fifty One East and Sony, ‘Official Hotel Partners’ InterContinental Doha and The St. Regis Doha, and Northwestern University in Qatar.

The ‘Friends of the Festival’ include: ‘Official Bank Partner’ al khaliji, ‘Official Hair Stylist’ Franck Provost, ‘Official Festival Partner’ Giffoni, ‘Official Make-Up Sponsor’ M.A.C Cosmetics, ‘Official Water Sponsor’ Rayyan Mineral Water, Dolby Laboratories, Education Above All foundation and Gulf Film.

Media companies Al Rayyan Productions, Qatar Television, and QF Radio have pledged their support as the Festival’s ‘Gold Media Sponsors’, while International New York Times, I Love Qatar, Qatar Happening, Screen International, Time Out Doha and T Qatar – New York Times style magazine Qatar Edition are ‘Silver Media Sponsors’.

The Ajyal Youth Film Festival builds on the Doha Film Institute’s history of community-based programming. Ajyal invites generations to come together to discuss cinema through events that inspire creative interaction, opening up a fun, collaborative environment where young people can express themselves.
