Fait de Cannes (that's "Cannes Fact"): The very first Cannes Film Festival (1939) lasted less than 2 days, when it was cancelled because of the beginning of World War II! The Festival was relaunched 7 years later, in 1946.

Special Effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen has died. He did the effects for Mighty Joe Young, Jason and the Argonauts, and Clash of the Titans (1981) (the originals), and created the DynaMation technique, which allowed his animated models to appear and interact directly with the actors on screen. RIP.
توفي الرائد الكبير في مجال المؤثرات الخاصة راي هاريهاوزن. أنجز المؤثرات الخاصة بأفلام جو يانغ وجايسون والارغونتس وكلاش اوف ذا تايتنز. كان هو أيضاً من ابتكر تقنية "دايناميشن" التي سمحت للشخصيات الخيالية بالظهور مباشرةً والتفاعل مع الممثلين على الشاشة
