FAQ’s:

Who can take part?
Anyone who will be in Doha, Qatar on 1 December, 2015, and who has read and agreed to follow all the rules and regulations of the Ajyal Pokemon Tournament is eligible to apply to participate.

How Do I Enter?
To sign up, please fill out the Entry Form and print the confirmation page.
Anyone over 16 is eligible to register for the game.
The deadline for receiving applications is 30 November, 2015. All applications must be received by the Doha Film Institute before the end of that day.
All entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If all slots are taken, names will be placed on a waiting list. If your name is on the waiting list, we will get in touch with you if a spot opens up.

Remember to enter your application quickly, because the maximum number of participants we can allow is 22.

Prizes will be Fnace vouchers

Rules and Regulations

Pokemon Rules (VGC rule):
• All matches are played in the Doubles format
• Flat Battle Rule: Pokemon above Level 50 will be brought down to 50 the match, while those below 50 will stay as is
• Team Preview Rule: Players can have up to 6 Pokemon in their party and choose 4 during Team Preview
• Pentagon Rule: All Pokemon must have the blue pentagon on their stats page indicating they were caught, bred, or received as an official gift in Pokemon X, Y, Omega Ruby, or Alpha Saphire
• Species Clause: No two Pokemon on your team can share the same Pokedex number
• Item Clause: No two Pokemon on your team can hold the same item
• The Following Items are banned:

General Code of Conduct:

● Violence and assault are STRICTLY PROHIBITED and shall not be tolerated and will result in being asked to leave the premises and can result in a ban from all future tournaments hosted by the Anime Qtr team. Such actions include but are not limited to:
○ Verbal abuse.
○ Discrimination of any sort.
○ Extreme disrespect to anyone.
○ Fighting.
● Interaction between players, commentators and the crowd whilst cheering is asked to be kept respectful. Please refrain from using foul language or insulting a player. If this rule is broken, a member of the organization team will issue a technical foul.
● Any player who is issued two technical fouls will be immediately disqualified from all events in the tournament, including those already played.
● Attendees and participants are responsible for their belongings. Anything you bring into the venue, including any personal gaming equipment (i.e. your own game consoles) are your responsibility. The organization team will in no way offer you compensation for any damaged or lost belongings. We kindly advise you to keep your belongings stored with you at all times.
● Participants caught tampering with any equipment or consoles, causing any damage to them will be resulted in an immediate disqualification and a possible ban from all future tournaments.
● Any issues that arise outside of these terms will be held on a case­ by ­case basis, and be judged by the Anime Qtr team.

Pokémon Tournament Rules:

● The battle will be capped to level 50
● Battles will be doubles 4 vs 4
● Each trainer should chose his team before the tournament
● Each trainer has to choose one mega Pokémon only
● Legendary Pokémon are not allowed
● Items are allowed
● List of your 6 Pokémon must be provided

General rules:

● Tardiness will not be accepted. If you are not present for your match 5 minutes after it has been called, it will be recorded as an automatic loss. If you do wish to leave the venue, please see one of the tournament organizers before you do so and leave your contact information in case your match has been called. Ultimately, participants are recommended to stay within the venue.
● The tournament organizer reserves the right to deny entry into the tournament to any player suspected of committing anything considered a crime or acting in a manner that is detrimental to the integrity of the event.
● The tournament organizer reserves the right to settle any unforeseen situations that may occur, and his judgment is final. In extreme situations, rules may be altered between phases of a tournament in the best interests of the event.
● Games or sets are not to be replayed due to a misinterpretation of the rules; it is the players’ responsibilities to ask the tournament organizer for any clarification of the rule set in the event of a disagreement, and the outcome of a game or set will not be changed after the fact unless under extreme circumstances.
● Any COACHING that happens during the match (but not in between games of the set) is restricted. Players who violate this rule will receive a warning and if violated once more will be issued a technical foul.
COLLUSION is strictly forbidden in a tournament and a tournament organizer can issue an immediate disqualification and ejection from the venue.
● Hindering a player’s game by slandering as you play them, physical abuse, yelling, etc., can and will result in a technical foul or in extreme cases a disqualification.
● Handing over your controller to another player is not allowed and will result in a disqualification. (Even if it is your team mate in doubles.)
● Any situation that can arise that is NOT listed, but could be an issue to the staff or the players will be taken care of at the discretion of the tournament organizer(s). You have a right to appeal to the tournament organizer(s) about any minor offense that happens within your played event, however, the tournament organizer(s) is final. Any argument will result in further penalty or possible ejection from the venue depending on the severity of the act.
