Grant Assistant

Film Financing

The Grant Assistant works in parallel with the Grant Coordinator and mostly administrative in nature, such as filing, photocopying, collating, database entry, processing incoming emails, dispatching them as needed etc. The applicant should be literate and numerate, and sufficiently experienced in the use of commonly used administrative software such as Microsoft Office. A demonstrable interest in and knowledge of film is important, with any focus on Arab film a bonus. English language skills are important, and Arabic skills are a plus.

  • Regularly following up and updating key information in starbase and share drive relevant to Film Financing
  • Conference room arrangements, setting up meetings etc…
  • Reception of incoming parcels (films, documents, etc…)
  • Regular follow up on emails or matters pertaining to pro readers (i.e. contracts, deadlines etc….)
  • Responding to email inquiries about fund, general questions, monitoring and distributing accordingly.
  • Insuring all compliant related info is distributed accordingly.
  • DFI Archiving Library follow up of grant applicants (Previous works, and rough cuts)
  • Database excel sheet with complete list of projects submitted (complete and incomplete) with full synopsis, contact details and historical brief when available
  • Scripts/new edits/delivery of tapes for festival programming
  • Contacting grantees for preapproval and filling out film information form
  • Gathering publication material (synopses/bios/photos/etc…) from grantees
  • Responding to all contacts post-festival presence
  • Providing DFI Logos to granted projects etc…
