The Ajami neighbourhood of the city of Jaffa in Israel is a melting pot of cultures and conflicting views among Jews, Muslims and Christians.
The film Ajami, which has been nominated for this year's 82nd Academy Awards and also won a special mention of the Camera d'Or at the recent Cannes Film Festival, depicts it as a community of restless bedfellows: Palestinians working illegally, organised gangs, drug traders, Bedouin revenge squads, corrupt Jewish police, clandestine lovers and a Christian Arab godfather.
Co-directors, producers and writers Scandar Copti, a Palestinian resident of Ajami, and Yaron Shani, an Israeli Jew, join Amanda Palmer and the FPS audience for a Q&A session about this unique new film.
