Synopsis
Set in Northern Iraq, “Salaam Dunk” is a documentary about basketball, the next generation of young Iraqi women, and the pain of losing those we love. For these young players, basketball is not just about winning; it represents a powerful source of pride and hopeful proof that Iraq will one day be known as more than a war zone.
BASKETBALL EXHIBITION GAME
As part of an ongoing campaign to engage audiences and promote cinema, DFI will be hosting a basketball competition on 26 October, at 5:30 PM. Players from the Iraqi film "Salaam Dunk" will demonstrate their skills on the court, competing against the Qatar Women's Basketball Club and Qatar Foundation's basketball team. The three individual matches will help raise awareness of Arab storytelling in the region and gather diverse members of the community. This event is free and open to the public.
