We are
one day away from opening night of the first ever Doha Tribeca Film Festival and still making last minute preparations at our festival hub - the Museum of Islamic Art!
During the festival we'll be live-blogging to provide you with the inside scoop from all our festival venues, including exclusive interviews with our celebrities and more!
So come join us tomorrow to watch Mira Nair's Amelia on the biggest stage ever built in Qatar, and witness a breathtaking live performance by the Qatar Philharmonic of 100 years of cinema classics!
9 pm: Looking Forward to Opening Niight
DTFF Press Production Assistant Hamida Al-Kuwari gives us a quick introduction to opening night. There's lots to look forward to - the red carpet event, the outdoor screening of Amelia, the Qatar Philharmonic and other entertainment. It's going to be an unforgettable night!
4 pm: The Final Preparations
In less than 24 hours, festival goers will converge on the MIA grounds — but there for Sarah Whitmarsh, DTFF's special events project manager, lots of work remains. Click on the video at left to find out what's keeping her and a staff of nearly 100 busy in these final moments.
1:30pm: The Biggest Stage in Qatar
On the grounds of the MIA we have constructed the biggest stage ever built in Qatar. This is where 3,000 people will watch Amelia on opening night. It will also host the Qatar Philharmonic on the same night as they play though 100 years of classic film scores.
